Tonight, we are in Marfa, Texas. Our dedication goes out to Riley Philpot, who has just relapsed for the third time. Her doctors have told her parents that there are no other chemotherapy or surgery options. Her parents—both doctors—insist that there must be another path. They ask for our intentions to be directed toward Riley as they search for non-chemo options.

Today’s dedication goes out to Karen Reycraft from Miami. She went through breast cancer treatment six years ago, and has recently had a cancer-related follow-up procedure. Karen is the mother of Dangerbird intern Melissa Perez. In an interesting twist on The Pablove Foundation’s focus on children, this is a situation where cancer has affected the adult child of a cancer patient.

Jo Ann and I are deeply saddened to tell you that Malachi “Kai” Smith passed away this morning at 8:18 am at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. We dedicated our ride to Kai on October 16, the day after his cancer had recurred. We encourage you to go to his website, take a look at his pictures, read his family’s written words and drop a comment to them if you’d like. We know they could use the support today. Kai, we are holding you tightly in our hearts tonight. www.caringbridge.org/visit …

Tonight we dedicate all the energy and goodness Pablove Across America has to offer to Danielle Kosta. Her mom Rhonda posted this comment on the Pablove Foundation Facebook page after seeing Sunday night’s dedication: Thank you for all that you are doing to find a cure for this horrible disease. My daughter Danielle was diagnosed with Wilm’s at the age of 9 months, and battled for 19 months, earning her wings on April 1, 2008, at the age of 2 1/2.
