Jeff Castelaz, Chairman of the Board
Jeff is Pablo’s papa, and the co-founder of The Pablove Foundation. He is also the CEO and co-founder of Dangerbird Records, a Los Angeles-based record label, artist management and music services company; and a member of the President’s Circle of the Lance Armstrong Foundation. In November 2009, Jeff was named Person of the Week by ABC Nightly News in recognition of his Pablove Across America bike ride. He grew up in Milwaukee and attended Marquette University.

Jo Ann Thrailkill, Executive Director
Jo Ann is Pablo’s mommy, and the co-founder of The Pablove Foundation. She is a member of the President’s Circle of the Lance Armstrong Foundation. For the 12 years prior to Pablo’s birth, she worked in the music video and television commercial industry, guiding a roster of directors through hundreds of jobs with bands, record labels and ad agencies. Jo Ann grew up in the heart of New Orleans and attended Louisiana State University.
John Bennett
John’s son Brock was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor in October of 2009. As a cancer father, John has witnessed firsthand the challenges of pediatric cancer and the life-altering impact it has on the affected families. John discovered The Pablove Foundation the night Brock was diagnosed and hospitalized, awaiting a surgical team to remove his cancerous kidney. It was during Brock’s treatment that John and his wife Wendy decided to commit themselves to identify and engage new and innovative ways to support children and families during their journey. Professionally, John is a senior manager at the Microsoft Corporation where he has held several positions in operations within the Interactive Entertainment Business Division. Additionally, John has worked in the Windows Client Division as a global business manager and in the Advanced Strategies and Research Division focused on low cost computing solutions in underdeveloped countries. John holds a Bachelors of Science in Finance and a minor in Economics from Westminster College. John lives in the Seattle area with his wife and two children. Time permitting, he pursues his passion for cycling and golf.

Piero Giramonti
Piero was born and raised in San Francisco, CA and graduated from the University of San Francisco with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Economics and English in 1987. He is a long-time music industry veteran, having held executive marketing positions at EMI, Sony, and Warner Music, based in London (UK), Milan (Italy), New York, and Los Angeles over the past 20 years. He joined Dangerbird Records as President in March 2011. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife of 15 years, Lisa Borgnes, and their 10-year-old son Luca. As you can see from the photo, he likes to ski powder. He is extremely proud and humbled to be a member of The Pablove Foundation board.

Rob Goldklang
Born and raised in southern California, Rob met Jeff early on in their music careers through the band Citizen King. They kept in touch for over 15 years. Rob is the VP of Alternative Radio Promotion at Warner Brothers Records and enjoys collecting music when he’s not spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Brie Grousbeck
Brie comes to the Board of Directors as a close friend of Jeff Castelaz and Jo Ann Thrailkill. She is a mother and a doctor with special interest in women and children’s health and preventive medicine. She received her BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and MD from the University of Iowa College of Medicine. She is currently on indefinite leave from residency in Family Medicine to be at home with her two-year-old son and devotes time to things close to her heart, like serving on the Board.

Carrie Holt
Carrie became involved with Pablove via the Shutterbugs program where she served as a committee member since its launch two years ago. Her favorite part of the program is meeting and recruiting students on hospital visits, then watching how far they’ve come by graduation day. Carrie earned her college degree from San Francisco State University in Clinical Psychology and minored in Special Education, then worked at The Oakes School for children with special needs. She later fell into a successful career as a costume supervisor for film and tv, but has spent the last few years dedicating herself to raising her two children. Carrie is working in costumes again as well as committing herself to supporting the Pablove Foundation.

Dr. Leo Mascarenhas
Dr. Mascarenhas is a pediatric oncologist at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and was Pablo’s oncologist throughout his treatment at CHLA. He is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine/University of Southern California. He also serves as the Director of the Clinical Trials Office at the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at CHLA and is the Principal Investigator for the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) at CHLA. Dr. Mascarenhas graduated medical school from St. John’s Medical College in Bangalore, India, and also holds a Master of Science in Clinical and Biomedical Investigations from the University of Southern California. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the sub-board of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. He is listed in Best Doctors in America, Southern California Super Doctors and Pasadena Top Doctors. In addition to advising The Pablove Foundation Board of Directors on pediatric cancer developments within the medical community, Dr. Mascarenhas leads the Scientific Advisory Committee.
Emma Thomas Nolan
Emma met Jo Ann, Jeff, Grady and Pablo when her son Rory started pre-school with Pablo in 2006 and has been proud to support The Pablove Foundation since its early days. She spent her own childhood traveling the world with her diplomat father and mother, living in Canada, Kenya, Brazil and Jordan. Emma graduated from University College London in 1993 with a BA in Ancient and Medieval History, and has worked in the film industry ever since; for the most part producing films for her director husband Chris. When not spending time with her four children or working, she has a new found interest in running – discovered only when she joined Team Pablove for the 2012 LA Marathon.

Alan Sartirana
Alan is the co-founder of Filter Magazine/Filter Creative Group, and a renowned pioneer in the music, entertainment and ad agency worlds. He is a long-time friend and work-colleague of Jeff’s, and his son Sebastian was a playmate of Pablo’s. As a member of the Board of Directors, Alan leverages his strategic marketing and advertising background and his passion for the cause to extend the national reach and awareness of The Pablove Foundation and its mission.

Rhea Scott
Since its founding in 1998, Rhea Scott has been the President of Little Minx. Little Minx focuses on creating artistic and commercial opportunities for its talented directors. The directors of Little Minx have worked with Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWA/Chiat Day, Draftfcb, JWT, Wieden+Kennedy, Publicis and Leo Burnett, among others. Before Little Minx, Rhea was Head of Music Videos at Propaganda Films, a prestigious music video, commercial and feature film production company where she collaborated with 45 directors including, David Fincher, Stephane Sednaoui, and Michael Bay. Additionally, she has also Executive Produced Grammy Award winning music videos with prominent recording artists; notably, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Madonna, the Rolling Stones, Lauryn Hill and Jay-Z. Today, Rhea continues to produce Oscar, Cannes, Clios, D&AD, One Show, AICP, Grammy, and MTV award winning works with artistic resonance and social consciousness.

Peter Walker
Peter is a musician, father and co-founder of Dangerbird Records. He has a BFA from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a lifetime of music education that began with singing in a church
choir and has evolved by touring a couple continents a few times over in a van with his band, Eulogies. Peter’s interest in sitting on the Board of The Pablove Foundation is a testament to the brotherly bond he and Jeff share and another outlet for working creatively with children.
